Leading in a Different Voice?

‘A Different Voice’ was first introduced by Carol Gilligan over 40 years ago. It is that internal, often-dismissed voice we all have.

It is that voice we sometimes silence out of fear of being seen as naïve or unpleasant. it is that voice we withhold because we hesitate to point out uncomfortable truths or risk damaging relationships.

But what if we embraced that 'Different Voice,' both in ourselves and in others? What if we allowed those voices to be heard, not as a threat, but as an opportunity for growth and transformation?

I believe this Different Voice is crucial in leadership today. By listening to and expressing it we can lead with care, inspire bold actions, and shape the future of our organizations and society.

So, what are we waiting for? Perhaps this could be a new resolution for 2025—embracing our different voices, leading with care, and shaping the future of the world around us.
